Suits and Sneakers Awareness Weekend
The Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers awareness weekend is a nationwide event when coaches across the country unite for a common cause – saving lives from cancer! Coaches and their staff are encouraged to wear sneakers with their game attire while coaching games during the weekend to:
- Raise awareness about the fight against cancer.
- Share the importance of nutrition and physical activity in reducing one’s risk of the disease.
- Promote the American Cancer Society as a place for people facing cancer to turn 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for free information, help, and support.
Suits and Sneakers Challenge
The Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers awareness weekend isn't just for coaches. Everyone can get involved through the Suits and Sneakers Challenge, which engages companies and basketball fans throughout the nation. As an extension of the weekend, corporations and organizations are encouraged to participate in the challenge by hosting a Wear Your Sneakers to Work Day. This challenge encourages employees to make a donation to Coaches vs. Cancer for the opportunity to wear their sneakers to work for a day. It's the perfect way for companies to team up with coaches and help put an end to cancer. To inquire about your company participating, contact Anthony Marino at 518-220-6939 or Anthony.Marino@cancer.org.
